The Eligibility criteria of SBI Clerk 2020 is based on:
- Educational Qualification
The candidate must have the nationality or citizenship from the following nationalities: Citizen of India, Citizen of Nepal, Citizen of Bhutan, Citizen of Bhutan, A Tibetan refugee, people migrated from Pakistan, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
The people belonging to these nationalities are eligible to apply for the SBI clerk exam 2017 and proceed with the job if selected.
SBI Clerk Educational Qualification Criteria
The candidates who wish to apply for the post of junior associates must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central government.
The candidates who wish to apply for the post of Junior Agricultural Associates must hold a graduation degree in Agriculture or agricultural allied activities from a Government recognized university/ institute.
The candidates have to produce class 10th standard mark sheet/ certificate evidencing having studied the official (local) language and having local language subject as one of the subjects, will not be subjected to any language test.
In other cases, where the candidates are not able to produce the same will need to undergo the language test before the final selection. The candidates not found to be proficient in official and local language would be disqualified.
Candidate should be able to write and speak English.
Candidates who are in the final Semester/year of Graduation may also apply for SBI clerk 2020. But they will have to produce the proof of having passed the graduation examination at the time of the document verification for joining.
Candidates having integrated dual degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD as per the prescribed dates.
Additional qualification: The additional qualification would definitely help out a candidate to apply for the post. The candidates must have knowledge of computer and also must have certificate/diploma/degree in computer operations/ Language/ should have studied computer/ information technology as one of the subjects in the high school/ college/ institute.
SBI Clerk Age Criteria:
Age required for SBI clerk 2020 is calculated on as on April 1, 2020. Candidates must satisfy the restriction for date of birth. As per SBI, candidates must have been born not earlier than 02.04.1989 and not later than 01.04.1997 (both days inclusive).
The age limitations have also been decided by SBI and the candidate satisfying these age restrictions will be eligible to apply.
The lower age limit for a candidate to apply is not below than 20 years and the upper age limit for a candidate to apply is not above than 28 years.
The age relaxation in upper age limit is provided to reserved category candidates. The applicant should meet the age criteria as per the norms mentioned above.
Relaxation in upper age limit
SBI provided the relaxation in upper age limit for reserved category candidates. Candidates seeking for the age relaxation in upper limit must have all the necessary certificates and should be produced at the time of the interview, in case they qualify the examination and gets selected for interview. No change in category is possible once the application form is submitted.
There is a total of 8 categories for which the upper age limit relaxation is provided. The first one is SC/ ST. This category seeks for the age relaxation of 5 years means is the person is up to 5 years than the decided age for the general category that is 28, could apply for this examination.
The second category is OBC which is Other Backward Classes. This category seeks for the age relaxation of 3 years and the candidate who is up to 3 years of more age than decided age of 28, could apply for this exam.
The next category is PWD (gen) and this category seeks for the age relaxation of 10 years and the candidate who is up to 10 years of more age than decided age of 28, could apply for this exam.
The next category is PWD (SC/ST) and this category seeks for the age relaxation of 15 years and the candidate who is up to 15 years of more age than decided age of 28, could go for applying.
The next one is PWD (OBC) and this category seeks for the age relaxation of 13 years and the candidate who is up to 13 years of more age than decided age of 28, could go on for applying.
The next include the age relaxation for the persons domiciled in Kashmir division of Jammu and Kashmir State during the period from 1 January 1981 to 31 December 1990. This category seeks for the upper age relaxation of 5 years from the decided age of 28 years for the SBI Clerk eligibility criteria.
The next category is of the ex-servicemen/ disabled ex-servicemen. The candidates belonging to this category will have the upper age relaxation of the actual period of service rendered in defense services + 3 years (8 years for disabled Ex-servicemen belonging to SC/ST subject to a maximum age of 50 years).
The next category if of widows, divorced women, and women legally separated from their husbands and who not remarried.
The candidates belonging to this category would seek the upper age limit relaxation of 9 years (subject to a maximum age limit of 35 years for general and 38 years for OBC and 40 years for SC/ ST candidates).
The additional categories are also there which include the persons affected by 1984 riots would be given relaxation of 5 years and regular employees of the Union Carbide factory, Bhopal retrenched from service (applicable to Madhya Pradesh state only) would be given relaxation of 5 years.
SBI Clerk Probation Period
The candidates who get selected after qualifying both the examination and interview will be on probation period for a minimum of 06 months. The newly recruited candidates need to complete the approximate 15 prescribed e-lessons during the probation period, forgetting confirmed in the bank.
On the other hand, if candidates failed to complete the 15 prescribed e-lessons, then their probation will be extended till completion of the same. These e-lessons will include role-based e-lessons.
Before the probation period ends, the performance of the newly recruited candidates would be judged and evaluated and the candidates whose performance failed to meet the bank’s expectation will get their probation period extended.
Additional requirements or footnotes
The candidate is compulsorily needed to write and speak English. Aspirants must be aware of the local language of the state they are applying from.
The date of passing the eligibility examination will be considered as on the date mentioned on the mark sheet/ provisional certificate issued by the university/ institute.
In case the result of a particular examination is posted on the website of the university/ institute, a certificate issued by the appropriate authority of the university/ institute indicating the date on which the result was posted on the website will be taken as the date of passing.
Matriculate Ex-servicemen, who have acquired the Indian Army Special Certificate of Education or corresponding certificate in the Navy/ Air Force, on completing the course not less than 15 years of service in Armed forces of the union are also eligible.
